P.S. Would you play the Holst Toccata  in the miscellaneous part of your programme.1

1. VW organised a series of concerts by musicians living locally called ‘Informal Hour of Music’ during the war – see VWL1615 and VWL1625.
2. Toccata, H 153. The work had been written for Adine O’Neill as a silver wedding present in 1924. See Michael Short, Gustav Holst, the man and his music, p.225.
